Burrow Tech Inc. (“Burrow”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have. It is written to align with Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial rules.

1. Information we collect

• Account & contact: name, email address, phone number.
• Tenancy & application: unit/building, lease details, and — if you apply for a home — information you provide to support the application (such as employment, income, move-in date, household, and an ID document you upload).
• Payments: payment-method details are handled by our payment processor. We store metadata needed to reconcile rent and services (for example the method type and status); we do not store full card numbers on our own systems.
• Messages: support and concierge chat you send through the app.
• Usage & device: basic technical data such as IP address, device/browser details, and how you use the Service.

On the marketing website, the only information we collect is the email address you submit to join the waitlist.

2. How we use your information

• To provide your tenancy and any services you subscribe to, and to process applications.
• To bill rent and services, and to keep accurate financial records.
• To answer questions, provide support, and operate the AI concierge.
• To keep the Service safe and secure and to meet legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the Service:

• Your building’s management/landlord and Burrow staff, to manage your tenancy and requests.
• Service providers who process data on our behalf — for example our hosting/database provider, our payment processor, and our AI provider (which powers the concierge and drafting). These providers act under agreements that restrict how they may use your data.
• When required by law — for example a valid legal request, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer.

4. AI processing

When you use AI features such as the concierge, the relevant message content is processed by our AI provider to generate a response. AI outputs are assistive and reviewed by a person for anything involving money, your lease, or access. See our Terms for more.

5. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above and to meet our legal and tax obligations (financial records, for instance, may be retained for the period Canadian tax law requires). When it is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

6. Your rights

Subject to law, you can ask to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or withdraw consent to certain uses. To make a request, email alan@liveburrow.com. We’ll respond within a reasonable time.

7. Cookies & tracking

Our marketing website does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Signed-in app features use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to keep you securely logged in and to operate the Service.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information, including row-level access controls so staff and the AI layer only see what they’re permitted to. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.

9. Children

Burrow is for adults. You must be at least 18 to use the Service, and it is not directed at children.
